Advisory Board
Convened as part of the project is an advisory board whose members apply their knowledge and experience in order to achieve the objectives of the project. In the advisory board following organisations are represented:

The Advisory Board meets usually two-three times per year to discuss on relevant issues and to provide their expertise as well as to contribute to the implementation of the project activities.
The members of the Advisory Board also actively participate in the activities of the project as trainers and contribute to the development of training and awareness materials.
In 2011-2024, 28 Advisory Board meetings were held, where the implementation of project activities and issues related to the topic were discussed.

The autumn meeting of the Advisory Board was held on October 16. This time, the meeting was held in the training room of the Data Protection Inspectorate. Birgy Lorenz, from Tallinn University of Technology, introduced the initiative to develop Smartly on the Web good practice paper for school, families and service providers regarding the use of artificial intelligence. After her overview of the purpose and content of the document, a discussion took place.
The focus of Safer Internet Day was discussed next. It was decided that the proposals submitted by the Advisory Board members regarding the specific topic of Safer Internet Day would be discussed at the Smart Internet project team meeting in early November. The main target groups would be children and students and parents. Thematic materials for schools will also be prepared.
The final topic discussed was the current situation in preventing and combating child sexual abuse online and the planned activities and changes in the possible implementation of the draft European Union regulation laying down rules for preventing and combating child sexual abuse online.
On May 23, the spring Advisory Board meeting was held online in the Microsoft Teams meeting room.
As the first topic of the meeting, the project team members provided an overview of the main activities and results of the project period from June 2022 to May 2024. Then, the results of the teacher survey, which was conducted in February-April 2024, were presented.
In the second part of the meeting, the activities for the next project period were introduced and a discussion took place on which the topics of information activities could focus. The final topic of the meeting was the results of the mapping of the implementation of the EU strategy ‘Better Internet for Children’.
